Special Purpose Rail Vehicles
Special purpose rail vehicles are customized trains that can serve specific needs such as last mile connectivity, amusement, industrial and light freight, and remote access. They can be powered by diesel, electric or battery sources and comply with all relevant international standards for safety and performance. The process of designing, developing and commissioning such vehicles involves the following steps:
Identifying the customer requirements and specifications for the intended application and environment.
Designing the vehicle layout, configuration, features, and components using computer-aided tools and simulations.
Developing the vehicle prototype and testing it for functionality, reliability, and compatibility with the existing rail infrastructure.
Commissioning the vehicle and delivering it to the customer after ensuring the quality and safety standards are met.
The projects can be taken up on a turnkey basis including setting up of the permanent way (Rails) and required signalling system.
VLRTC : Very Light Rail Transport Construct
VLRTC is a new mode of urban transport that uses lightweight vehicles powered by batteries. ROT- Ride on Trains
